Week 1 Assignment Order Description   Week One consists of the following tasks and assignments: • Read chapters 1-3 Swanson, R. A., & Holton, E. F. III (2009). Foundations of Human Resource Development (2nd ed.). San Francisco: Berrett-Koehler. • Respond to each question individually in about 150-200 words (per question). Take a look at the Group Discussions Rubric for the guidelines on responding to the posts: 1. In addition to the definitions presented in the text, what were your definitions or main ideas of HRD, before you read the text? 2. In what other practical ways/ fields, other than HRD, do you see the systems thinking process working efficiently? 3. Describe the relationship (if any) between the three graphic models in chapter two (2.2, 2.3, and 2.4) 4. What contradictions are there between your worldview and the HRD worldview. • In addition, discuss the following with your group members: • a) Discuss the role of the Academy of Human Resource Development and the value of the organization to the discipline. • b) Discuss two recurring themes in the history of HRD.
