Water planning
of water network:
The water network starts form (IPWP) independent power and water producer to their Reservoir and pump station (RPS) there are about 34 RPS i from RPS will go through Rising main (RM) = District meter zone (DMZ)
The size for the rising main pipe could be 1200 mm, 900mm or 600mm then to the feeder for the District meter area (DMA)
From RM to the DMA there are butterfly valve connect it to the feeder that feeds the DMA also there are pressure meter (PTP) and Flow meter then it will go to meters for the customers.
From the meter flow for DMA and customer meter we can calculate Non review water (NRW)
By see the distribute volume from the meter flow in DMA and the billed volume for the customers
Distribute volume – billed volume = NRW (losses)
And from that we can find the physical losses and the commercial losses.
Field service
The purpose of this section is to provide the customer with the water service connection in the shortest period of time.
There are three units in field service section namely:
• Service connection
• Main extension
• Tanker feeling state
Type of service:
• New connection either direct or main extension
• Temporary
• Replace
• Disconnection
method of service connection:
• Vertically meter size (20mm to 50mm)
• Horizontal (50mm to 63mm)
• Chamber 63 mm and above
Connection regulation
• Service pipe connection should be either copper or MDPE
• Maximum top for lockable valve 10 cm
• All the fittings above the ground should be brass
Installation (internal inspector)
When the building finish the contractor will apply for installation inspecting the unit will send an inspector to check the connection .
Most things that inspector check in a building:
For water:
• Pipe that connected to the meter should be copper
• Meter size
• Valve in meter
• Tank
For electrical:
For service cabinet and electric room:
• Cable size
• C/O
• Cable trucking in electric room between the C/O and meter
• MSB and DB
For LV panel they should check the transformer and the room size for the LV panel
