1) Read Wallace's 'Tense Present," read the "tutorial on value claims", and listen to the Radiolab podcast (17 minutes). These materials will help you to understand what you have been asked to do in this assignment. 2) Give your unit of measurement a name (if I were assigned country music I would propose the Dolly Parton). 3) Define your unit of measurement by describing its parameters and requirements (e.g., a single Dolly Parton is a combined package of an album, a movie, and a TV appearance, one of which features the artist in rhinestones; three Dolly Partons would involve a combined total of nine albums, movies, and TV appearances and at least three rhinestoned outfits). 4) Lastly, establish a basis for your unit of measurement. This last part will require some references (formatted correctly of course). The challenge here is to argue why your proposal should be the unit of measurement and not something else. For instance, I would need to argue why the Dolly Parton and not the Hank Williams or the Faith Hill. Why should Dolly be the basis for measuring?
