Visual Culture
Order Description
Compare the images from the historical collection from Tate Britain to the images from the modern day media. Use the process of comparison to answer the question:
Identify, compare and contrast the visual languages evident in the images, how do they function, what do the image makers intend to communicate through them?
Techniques that could be used in comparisons:
1. Object recognition: Identifying objects using pattern matching
2. Facial recognition: Identifying faces and determining age, gender and emotion
3. Composition analysis: Identifying prominent shapes, spatial relations and colors
4. Context analysis: Identifying text such as titles, dares and descriptions associated with an image.
*Clearly show and articulate full understanding of the question.
*Evidence of additional insight in ability to "read" understand and articulate visual material.
*Referencing: Evidence of independent research in selecting over 6 (in total) text and image based examples relevant to the argument; these are correctly cited/referenced.
