B. In an opening summary/thesis sentence tell what the book is about and why it is theologically significant.
II. Summary
A. What specific field of theology is treated?
B. What is thesis of the book?
C. How is the book organized, and how does its argument unfold?
D. Who is the audience for whom the book has been written?
III. Critique
A. What does the author do well? What is proven and supported well? (Use specific
examples and cite page numbers.) What does the first author’s argument lack, miss or
not do well?
B. State whether the author is convincing and why.
IV. Conclusion
A. Summarize the critical assessment of the book.
B. How can the book teach, improve, inspire, change, or disappoint the audience?
C. To whom and for what audiences is it recommended? For which ones is it not
recommended?
