Discuss a moral choice you have faced--or are currently facing--and analyze it from the perspective of consequentialism (utilitarianism) and deontology (Kant).
Organize you essay into four parts:
- Introduce your moral dilemmas.
2 Analyze your dilemma from the point of view of utilitarianism. Consider Betham and Mill, and act vs. rule utilitarianism.
- Analyze your dilemma from the point of view of Kant. Apply the concept of "good will," the categorical, and the practical imperatives.
- Bring things together. Discuss what conclusion each perspective led you to and what the strengths and weaknesses of each perspective were for your dilemma.
