Scenario
The first step in writing a research proposal is identifying a viable research question in order to fill a gap in literature and/or solve a problem. After considering what most interests you in your field of study (academic program) and conducting a preliminary examination of current research in library databases, you will develop a research question and provide a rationalization for its viability for this section of the research project. The research question will serve as the foundation of your research proposal project.
Instructions
Choose a topic on a newer or emerging topic in your field of study.
o Using this FINER protocol, create a research question. Be sure it encompasses each of the following elements:
FINER Protocol for Research Questions_Deliverable 2.docx
o Feasible
o Interesting
o Novel
o Ethical
o Relevant
o Defend the viability and the FINER protocol of the question in a two-to-three-page paper (not including the title and reference pages).
Full Answer Section
- The research question is also feasible because there is a relatively small amount of research that has been done on this topic. This means that there is a lot of potential for new insights and discoveries.
Interesting:
- The research question is interesting because it has the potential to improve the lives of people with chronic diseases. AI-powered chatbots could provide personalized support and guidance to patients, helping them to manage their symptoms and adhere to their treatment plans.
- The research question is also interesting because it is novel. There is no other research that has specifically looked at the use of AI-powered chatbots to support patients with chronic diseases.
Novel:
- The research question is novel because it is exploring a new way to use AI in healthcare. AI-powered chatbots have the potential to revolutionize the way that healthcare is delivered, and this research could help to pave the way for future innovations.
Ethical:
- The research question is ethical because it is designed to benefit patients with chronic diseases. The chatbots would be designed to provide personalized support and guidance, and they would not be used to collect any personal or sensitive information from patients.
Relevant:
- The research question is relevant because it is addressing a real-world problem. Millions of people around the world suffer from chronic diseases, and AI-powered chatbots could help to improve their quality of life.
Full Research Question:
Is the use of AI-powered chatbots feasible and effective for supporting patients with chronic diseases?
This research question addresses the feasibility, interest, novelty, ethics, and relevance of using AI-powered chatbots to support patients with chronic diseases. It is a feasible question because it is within the scope of my expertise and experience, and there is a relatively small amount of research that has been done on this topic. It is an interesting question because it has the potential to improve the lives of people with chronic diseases, and it is a novel question because it is exploring a new way to use AI in healthcare. It is an ethical question because it is designed to benefit patients with chronic diseases, and it is a relevant question because it is addressing a real-world problem.
I believe that this research question has the potential to make a significant contribution to the field of healthcare. If the research is successful, it could lead to the development of new and innovative ways to use AI to support patients with chronic diseases. This could improve the quality of life for millions of people around the world.
