Report: Please prepare a short (5-10 page) paper that includes the following sections. Plant Description.
Describe the plant as follows a) Scientific name (include Family, Genus and Species). b) Common names (be
sure to include any indigenous names, origins of the names and their meaning). c) Draw the flower and leaves.
Describe the flowers and leaves (type, shape, arrangement, venation and margins). d) The habitat or ecology
of the plant- where it grows and why it grows there. This should include the geographical range, climate, soil
types, and any other environmental conditions you can identify. Human and Plant Interactions. Please describe
how humans have used the plant in the past, and how it is used currently. If applicable, indicate how people
have modified the plant and for what purposes. Describe and document the relationship between people and
the plant, and how that relationship may or may not have changed over time. Discuss cultivation practices and
geography (how the plant has been moved by humans). Reference Section. Please use a scientific database
to locate at least 10 scientific references on the plant. You may use books or scientific articles. You may only
use web-based references that end in .edu or .gov, unless you can demonstrate that it is peer- reviewed,
scientific literature. Cite the references in text, and list citations at the end of the report. You should pick a
format and be consistent. Please provide all information, so that someone else can locate a reference.
