Imagine yourself navigating a maze. The consequentialist approach is like being blindfolded. You stumble through the maze, only learning from the dead ends (negative consequences) you encounter. Your goal is to simply reach the finish line as quickly as possible, regardless of the bumps and bruises along the way. This translates to focusing solely on the outcome of an action, without considering the inherent right or wrong of the action itself. Did the action achieve the desired result, even if it caused some collateral damage?
