Exercise 1.1: Understanding Guiding Principles

1. Reread the section “Guiding Principles” in this chapter to understand why guiding principles are crucial for any organization. Guiding principles describe the organization’s beliefs and philosophy pertaining to quality assurance and performance improvement.
2. Research online for different examples of public references to organizational guiding principles and compare them. Describe the similarities and differences among them.

3. Identify a shared attitude, value, goal, or practice that characterizes the culture of your school or workplace.
4. Describe how you first became aware of the campus or workplace culture.
