Write your paper. Students need to gather, at a minimum, the following information, from at least three (3) reputable sources - of which 1 (one) credible source must be from the scholarly databases, and 1 (one) source must be from a credible government/professional organization , and provide a type-written report (no minimum page specification), regarding their assigned profession. It must include at a minimum the following information: • Typical starting salary/pay range and benefits (Why is there a range? Is there any other benefits besides monetary compensation?); • Education and training Requirements (What does an individual need to possess (credentials, degree, etc.) and/or pass to get into this field?); • Essential responsibilities/duties of the position (What does this professional do? What does a typical day on the job look like?); • Advancement and promotion opportunities (what are the options?); • Work conditions (Where does this professional work/perform his/her duties?) • Role of this position within the Criminal Justice System and how it supports the mission of the Criminal Justice System in this state, The United States, and globally (this will be your analysis and reflection from what you have learned in this class); • Occupational outlook for this career in the United States (you must include information from at least the Occupational Outlook Handbook); • Diverse Workforce Needs (Steps during recruit/hiring process to ensure and support diversity (women, African-Americans Hispanics, GBLT, physical disabilities, etc.); policies for promotion and retention of minorities, average minority representation in the profession; Include details on the impact diversity has on society for these positions; • Use and impact of discretion within this selected career and the importance of ethical decision making throughout the criminal justice process; and • At least three positive aspects of this job (from your perspective or a practitioner) AND at least three negative aspects of this job (from your perspective or a practitioner). Students’ coverage of this material should be exhaustive; thus providing a comprehensive picture of this career. 4. Format will be: • Typed document, submitted to Safe-Assign and receive an acceptable Safe-Assign score (20 or lower) • Double-spaced, one inch margins, 12 point font • No required number of pages but the report must have the above specified information included and the material included should be exhaustive • You will not “cut and paste” any part of this paper.
