One paragraph：Can you identify at least ONE unintended consequence of innovation in social media
discussed in the film. What was the innovation and what was the unintended consequence? Was that
consequence positive or negative?
In this log, you will choose a widely covered news story that broke recently and study its coverage in two
news sources (traditional and/or alternative). Reflect on how the reports are done in relation to the textbook
chapter about "fake news" and the class discussion about news media in general. Make sure that you do the
following: I. Pinpoint one issue about "fake news" that stood out to you from the reading. Try to explain it in
your log to someone whose news literacy may need improving. II. Use your research about the news reports to
show how that issue reflects in your comparison between different news coverage. III. Provide details about
where the reader could locate the news pieces you analyzed (publication date, page number, and the name of
the newspapers; or links to the news pieces if they come from the web). The log should be two fully developed
paragraphs.
