Sample Answer
CBT can be used to guide the processes of assessment, intervention, and evaluation in social work practice.
- Assessment: In the assessment phase, the social worker would use CBT to help the client to identify their negative thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. The social worker would also help the client to identify their goals for therapy.
- Intervention: In the intervention phase, the social worker would use CBT techniques to help the client to challenge their negative thoughts and to develop more adaptive thoughts. The social worker would also help the client to develop new behaviors and to practice these behaviors in the real world.
