How does the film think about the theme of Black sexuality? What is it saying about Black sexuality? What conceptual possibilities does the film open up? How is it limited in its representation of Black sexuality? Apply at least three (3) course readings and between three-to-five (3-5) external readings to support your claims

• Explores the concept of black sexuality through the lens of a young gay man growing up in Florida
• Looks at how sexuality is experienced by him through the lens of race and culture, class, and family.
• Race and culture: what’s expected of black men in society, specifically by other black men (toughness, no demonstration of “softer” emotions, strength, and protectiveness) and how Juan and Kevin were the only ones who showed him different from that; values of brotherhood and seniority (how him having no “brotherhood” distinguished him as different, AND the reason why he had no brotherhood was that he was different). Still a little confused what the moonlight metaphor means, but should look into what this means in terms of sexuality and race.
