COMPREHENSIVE PAPER: The purpose of the paper is to assure that the student uses the internship experience to advance his or her knowledge, understanding, and education.

As a guide, the paper should be six typed pages in length using 12-point type, 1.5 row spacing, and explain:

1. A description of the organization (including history, size, mission, vision, products and/or services, industry, etc.)
2. Your role in the organization, your typical schedule and the type of work you performed.
3. Strengths and weaknesses of the organization or department.
4. How effectively did the organization use staff, including student interns?
5. What were your major learning experiences, and which were most valuable? What skill sets did you
   develop?
6. How could the organization have provided a better environment for learning?
7. How prepared were you for the internship?
   a. Explanation of ways that courses and other experiences contributed positively or negatively to the internship experience.
   b. Identification of knowledge or skill gaps that were evident during the internship experience.
   c. Identification of additional courses or other experiences that might help to fill knowledge or skill gaps that have been observed.
8. What skill sets did you not develop as well as you would have liked? Why not? How might you improve your skills in these areas?
9. What difficulties and or surprises did you encounter during your internship?
10. How might the organization alter its policies or practices in a cost-effective way to better achieve its goals?
11. Include at least three “Pointers for Future Interns.” What would you tell a student who had never done an internship before?
