What is the Color-Blind ideology, and does it privilege whites? Why, or why not? Do polling data suggest that many, or a few, whites ‘view race relations through the lens of color blindness′? How do commodities, consumed by multiple races, contribute to this ideology? Using educational opportunity, occupational advancement, health, upward mobility, and equal treatment in the public sphere as measures of color-blindness, how do we fare? Why?
