  1. Watch the show “Seven Up 1964”. The link is in the Video Observation folder.
  2. Write anecdotal record observation notes on all the children in “Seven Up 1964”. The anecdotal record should capture the incident much the same way a photograph captures a single moment of time (Who Am I in the Lives of Children, p.161).
  3. In observing all the children include specific examples in your notes of:
    o Physical Development
    o Cognitive Development
    o Language Development
    o Social/Emotional Development
    o Overall Development
    o Strengths
    o Areas to Work On
Write down everything you observe the children say and do. Remember to be objective and record only what you see and hear - just the facts!
  4. Write a formal paper about the children in “Seven Up 1964”. In the first part of your paper, use your observation notes to describe all of the children. Include specific examples from the “Seven Up 1964” of each of the categories in step three (3). (It is written objectively and directly from your observation notes)
  5. In the second part of your paper, describe what you learned from observing & recording notes of all the children in “Seven Up 1964”. Include specific detailed examples from your observation. (This second part can be subjective. Analyzing the information from the show.)
