The role of art in religion.

Summarize the important role art has played in religious beliefs of various cultures. Define and include at least one example of artwork from each of the following types of religions: Polytheistic, Pantheistic, and Monotheistic. Ponder these questions: Is artwork necessary for humans to grasp the concept of a divine realm? Why or why not? How do the artworks inform you about the people/cultures who created them? Which of these artworks most connects you to your sense of spirituality or something bigger than yourself, whether that is religious or not? How does it do that? This might be hard to describe, but think of how the forms or elements connect you to certain feelings/memories or experiences.
