  1. Explain the grounds for search authority and the scope and intensity of search activity authorized for each of the various searches discussed in this module; namely, (1) motor vehicle searches, (2) limited weapons searches, and (3) inventory searches.
  2. What is the purpose of a protective sweep? What are the normal boundaries of a protective sweep? When may police extend the boundaries of a protective sweep? What is the intensity of a protective sweep?
  3. Explain the two conditions necessary for illegally seized evidence to be admissible under the good faith exception to the exclusionary rule. Do you agree with these to conditions? Would you add any additional conditions?
  4. Describe the boundaries of search authority conferred by a search warrant that describes the location to be searched by address. Explain when police may detain persons found on the premises while executing a search warrant. When may police perform a Terry frisk of persons found on the premises as they are executing a search warrant?
