The pressing challenge in international affairs

1- Arguably the most pressing challenge in international affairs is climate change and its adverse political, security, and economic consequences. Employing insights from at least three of the major theoretical approaches considered in this course, articulate 1) reasons to believe that states and other actors in the international system are likely to rise to the challenge, and 2) reasons to believe that states and other actors in the international system are unlikely to rise to the challenge. Using examples drawn from political, security, and economic interactions in the international arena, adjudicate between the competing perspectives.
