Sample Answer
Scenario:
I worked with a client, let’s call her Maria, who had recently experienced a traumatic car accident. She sustained severe injuries and lost a loved one in the accident. I learned about the trauma during our initial intake session, when Maria began to share her experiences and emotions.
Impact on Me as a Professional and a Person:
Exposure to Maria’s trauma was emotionally challenging. Witnessing her pain and suffering was difficult, and I found myself empathizing deeply with her experiences. As a professional, I felt a strong responsibility to provide her with the necessary support and resources. However, it was also important for me to take care of my own emotional well-being to ensure that I could continue to provide effective care.
