The historical and cultural evolution of Chinese clothing since the 19th century"

This D-level seminar course prepares students in History, Global Asia Studies and other Departments for in-depth studies in Global Asian Migrations. This term, it focuses on the internal and external population movements in the Asia Pacific area, highlighting the exchange of population and capital between mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Canada, from the 19th century on to now. In particular, it looks into how political, economic and cultural forces affected the flow of population at a macro level and how the interactions between the new comers and the locals reshaped each others’ identities and perceptions of their living conditions.

Firstly, finish a annotated bibliography of at least 10 sources (including books, book chapters, and journal articles), summarizing the contents of the sources and their relevance to the topic of the research paper.
