Your essay for this assignment should be written in the first person. Choose a character who would have known the Grimke sisters,
personally or by reputation and write in that person’s voice. The character could be anybody, a slave, a white woman from the South,
an upper-class woman, an abolitionist, a slaveowner, a small farmer, an aspiring businessman. In his or her voice, write a letter to a
friend or loved one, or write a letter to the editor of your local paper, or write to a politician or some other famous person, or write an
entry in your own journal or diary. Make sure that you identify who you are. Then in either one piece of correspondence at the end of
their lives, or in multiple pieces of correspondence at various dates, share your thoughts and impressions of the Grimkes.
