The future of international conflict

How has the nature of war changed and what does it tell us about the future of international conflict?

The introduction should do the following:

(a) address the question explicitly (without just repeating the question) and provide a contextualization of the question (i.e., recognize the significance of the question and the nature of the answer to it in relation to thinking about international relations – but without making sweeping generalisations and assertions without evidence);

(b) provide a brief – just a couple of sentences – overview of how the discussion will be organized (i.e., what are the main points (or sections/issues) that the student will discuss in answer to the question and in what order; and

(c) provide some indication as to how the student intends to answer the question (e.g., developing a thesis statement/what they think their main argument will be).

The outline should be organized around 4-5 key points (that are identified in the introduction – see above) starting with the definition of key terms and then with brief elaborations of what the student plans to write in terms of argument, use of examples and evidence and sources engaged with
