The film is about the filming of Christopher Columbus' encounter with the Tainos - an indigenous tribe of West Indies. The film is shot in Bolivia with Quecha Indians. Even as the film re-opens the violence that punctuated the early conquest, the film seeks to expose the current exploitation that afflicts the Quecha Indians.
