- Look at the theoretical formula for the t-test. It is basically a big fraction - a ratio between the difference between means and the average variability among the scores.
- Explain to a fellow student how one or two extreme "statistical outliers" (scores that are very, very different from the others) could change the value of the t-test, even when the two means being compared are exactly the same.
