In class we pretended we were in the Council of Nicaea. We have come up with a Creed.
a) an introductory paragraph in which you state the topic and your opinion (in a clearly worded thesis
statement).
b) a main body which consists of several paragraphs, each presenting a separate viewpoint that is supported
by reasons and evidence and represents a step in the development of your central claim. You should use topic
and transition sentences to clearly indicate what each paragraph is about (what point it will establish) and how
it is related to the paragraph that precedes/follows it. You should also include a paragraph presenting the
opposing viewpoint and reason why you think it is an unconvincing viewpoint; and a
c) conclusion in which you restate your opening opinion using different words and arrive to a conclusion
