Expanding on the collaboration/employment potentials for BCD graduates that were identified in your 5th semester courses, individually you will begin to explore how to strengthen the position of the Bachelor of Child Development graduate among services and programs focusing on the child, the family and the community. This option will be marked as individual.
Grading criteria relates to the quality and completion of steps in this option. Steps in this option include:
Identify NEW community partners appropriate to host BCD students from your campus in three of the four following categories – private foundation, charitable organization, Not for Profit Corporation, or specific government body or office that provides regulation, financial supports or services for children, families and/or agencies. Research the service mandate of each potential partnership to ensure there is an appropriate link to the work they do and BCD learning outcomes (primarily in semesters 1 – 5)
In comparing service mandates with BCD learning outcomes, identify 3-4 potential partnership ideas per agency.
Complete collaboration template (provided by Shawna) with all information
Develop a professional cover letter (per agency) introducing the BCD program and identifying how BCD partnership could be of mutual benefit
