Students are to select TWO from the three topics provided. Your answer should be in the form of a reflective journal. 1. Reflect on what the changing gender roles means to you as an individual Information: One suggested reading is from the prescribed text Henslin, Possamai & Possamai-Inesedy chapter on gender roles (Chapter 10). You may, however, also choose to anchor your reflection in another reading that you have found or that has been provided in this course. Way of making sense: Useful conceptual background is provided by the segment of the course which discusses gender roles in modern society. Personal experience: This may be examples of family perspectives, work place events, beliefs or values you share. Or, it might be a time when you have felt torn, when your personal values were challenged, or any other relevant experience. 2. Reflect on how Australia’s population and urbanisation has changed and developed and how this has impacted on the way we live and work in society. Information: One suggested reading is from the prescribed text Henslin, Possamai & Possamai-Inesedy chapter on population and urbanisation (Chapter 16). You may, however, also choose to anchor your reflection in another reading that you have found or that has been provided in this course. Personal experience: This may be examples of your neighbourhood experiences growing up as a child and the differences that exist today. It may include examples and observations of changes to the environment in which you live, as well as the infrastructure, assess and resources or employment that may / may not be available to you.
