Deep learning implies teaching for meaning, application of facts and skills to problems, metacognition (knowing what you know, thinking about how one thinks, and how to regulate cognitive processes). 21st Century skills include the core subjects, life and or career skills, learning skills and information / media / technology skills. Excellent Teaching implies connecting students with content in motivating and meaningful ways. Student inquiry plays an important role in excellent teaching.
