Create 8 questions and administer the survey questions.“Perceptions of crime in your neighborhood”
Design (CREATE) a survey instrument with 8 questions (2 of each: open-ended, close-ended, matrix,
contingency) that will measure perceptions of crime
Select 10 people – family and friends – to participate in your survey
Administer the survey using the various methods as discussed in Ch. 7
Then, please write:
- The survey questions you designed to measure perceptions of crime in one's neighborhood
- Your data results (please omit any names of subjects; simply assign a number to each subject #1-
10) - Weaknesses of your study/survey design – how could it be improved for next time?
- What was your response rate? What factors influenced your response rate?
- Challenges of the different collection methods – which would produce the most reliable data?
- Is technology really an ally when collecting data?
