Certain professions have ethical guidelines that you are required to abide by, and Criminal Justice is no different. As we spoke about in this week’s content, Attorneys have a Code of Ethics that they swear and attest to when they sign their Oath of Admission to the Bar as do Police Officers and Corrections Personnel.
This week you are going to complete a 500-750 word paper on how you will prepare to become an ethical leader in Criminal Justice and what challenges you may face along the way.
Identify a profession within the Criminal Justice Field that you feel you are best suited for.
Based on your knowledge of morals and ethics from this week’s content, identify the appropriate ethical standards for your career field and any standard that will be challenging for you.
Create a plan including but not limited to:
How you plan to reach the standards required, either expressly or impliedly, by such a profession.
As a leader, how will you manage staff that conducts themselves in a manner inconsistent with your perspective on ethical behavior? Take into consideration the individual moral differences that may exist between you and individual staff members.
How will your plan to manage the ethical challenges you will face facilitate your success as a leader?
