Study the Thompson textbook’s Table of Contents and read the key points section for all assigned chapters (Chapters 1-12) – about 12 pages total.
The Strategy Making, Strategy-Executing Process is a summary that outlines the process of crafting and executing a company’s strategy. It is aligned with the assigned chapters of the textbook. You will find that by becoming immediately familiar with the Table of Contents, and the chapter summaries will assist you in using the Strategy Making, Strategy-Executing Process.
The process of crafting and executing a company’s strategy consists of five interrelated managerial tasks:
- Developing a strategic vision, mission, and core values.
- Setting Objectives.
- Crafting a strategy to achieve the objectives and the company vision.
- Implementing and executing the plan.
- Monitoring developments, evaluating performance and initiating corrective adjustments.
For each chapter, identify the major strategic management concepts introduced and how this chapter aligns with the Strategy Making, Strategy-Executing Process (See Figure 2-1, Chapter 2). One to two paragraphs for each section should be sufficient.
