Stages of Critical Thinking Develop Network designment

Chapter 2 in Paul and Elder’s Critical Thinking describes the Stages of Critical Thinking Development

(Exhibit 2.1). The authors describe our development as reflective thinkers as a lifelong process in moving

from Stage 1 (unreflective thinker) to Stage 4 (practicing thinker).

Considering Paul and Elder's stages of development, in which level would you place yourself? (Refer to

Exhibit 2.1 in Chapter 2 of your Critical Thinking text.) Respond to the following to reflect on your own

critical thinking:

What are 2–3 strategies you can use to improve your thinking?
What do you perceive is one strength in your critical thinking?
What do you perceive as one area of growth in thinking critically? How would you develop this growth

area?
