Order Description
Id like a comprehensive outline (equivalent of around half of my essay) and then i will fill in the rest of essay. But i really need you to do the bulk of research and outine the main points and arguments (Maybe 3 pages per topic), including some current australian references that i can work with. Then hopefully i can expand on these points? The assignment is below. To clarify, you need 2 journal articles for each topic.

Value: 50%
Length: 3500 words (1750 words per topic)
For each topic listed below undertake the following tasks:
Topic 1 – Practice skills in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
Topic 2 – Practice skills in child welfare and protection
• Choose two recent journal articles on a current social work practice issue relevant to the topic and with an emphasis on practice skills. The journal articles must be from peer reviewed social work journals, Australian or international. The articles must have been published in the current or preceding calendar year – older publications will not be accepted.
• Describe and discuss why you chose each journal article and how each article could be useful to you in social work practice, especially in relation to skills for practice.
• In your discussion, you should draw from the subject content, the readings for each topic as well your own independent research. Your reading and research should be demonstrated through consistent use of reference material throughout your discussion (in-text citations and list of references).
In order to successfully complete this assessment, you need to have completed the readings and activities related to the topics on working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and practice skills in child welfare and protection. You will also be required to engage in further independent research to develop knowledge of each topic.
Rationale
The purpose of this assessment is for students to develop a portfolio of practice resources for each core topic. By engaging with current research on social work practice in each core topic, you will demonstrate your ability to consider how new knowledge will inform and guide your future professional practice. This is a key skill in an ever changing practice context and of great importance to your ongoing professional development.
As per the objectives of this subject, it is expected at this level that you will demonstrate skills at critically considering available literature and applying this to your growing set of practice skills. A clear rationale for your arguments should be evident.
The learning outcomes being assessed in this assignment are your ability to:
Demonstrate basic and advanced microskills appropriate to working with children and Indigenous Australians.
Research and outline key aspects of the historical development of social work as a profession as they impact upon working with children and Indigenous Australians
Understand and apply social work core values and practice standards while working with children and Indigenous Australians
Have a general understanding of discourse and practice theory relevant to social work and be able to articulate this knowledge when working with children and Indigenous Australians.
Explain the relevance of social inclusion, diversity, globalisation and sustainability to social work practice in working with children and Indigenous Australians
Demonstrate mature development of self reflection and critical thinking skills appropriate for working with children and Indigenous Australians
Be able to draw upon appropriate research and discern cultural and other biases of research while working with children and Indigenous Australians
Marking criteria
Marks will be allocated to each topic based on the following criteria. Further details of expectations on each criteria are outlined in the table below.

- Discussion of how these articles could be useful to your social work skills and practice. - 30 marks
- Presentation and writing skills - 10 marks
