Sample Answer
- Model positive social behaviors. Children learn by watching the adults in their lives. Be sure to model the behaviors that you want to see in your child, such as sharing, taking turns, and being kind to others.
- Provide opportunities for social interaction. The more opportunities children have to interact with others, the better they will develop their social skills. Encourage your child to play with other children, join clubs or activities, and spend time with family and friends.
- Help your child develop empathy. Empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of others. Help your child learn to identify and understand the emotions of others, and to respond in a caring and compassionate way.
