Social Change Campaign is based upon the Black Lives Matter movement.

From hashtags to graffiti walls to bumper stickers, the mediums we use to communicate our issues are critical for raising public awareness about our issues and generating support of potential allies.

For this second milestone toward your completed social change campaign project you will develop a media/communication platform including slogans and messaging to a variety of audiences (current supporters, potential supporters, legislators, etc.). You will include a description of the the potential audience of the platforms. You will then write a 3-page proposal that describes each element of the platform and your reasoning for selecting it.

First, review the relevant course resources and identify other peer-reviewed resources that are germane to your particular campaign and its social issue. Next, write a 3-page proposal that describes each element of the communication plan/campaign that you have developed for your platform—and your reasoning for selecting it. The following critical elements must be addressed.

Communication Plan/Campaign

Approach: Describe at least one approach to raising awareness about this issue. This approach can include a hashtag, billboard, or public service announcement. Be sure to make a direct connection between this communication plan/campaign and the identified need. For instance, the #WhyIStayed hashtag clearly addresses popular misconceptions that victims can leave an abusive relationship if they really wanted to.
Dissemination: Define the strategy for disseminating the communication plan/campaign. Be sure to provide evidence for why this approach will reach the desired audience.
Audience: Identify potential audience members and clearly explains how they will be reached. A rationale is provided for why reaching this group of people will advance the identified goals.
