Slp adult learning theory
Order Description
Adult Learning Theory
Purpose of SLP: The purpose of this Session Long Project is to complete a proposal for a training program or training course using adult education principles. You will be asked to conceptualize a training program or course and create a research-based proposal to support it. You will develop a new section to the proposal during each module’s work during the term.
By the end of Module 2: Conduct a literature review of 7 or more scholarly articles that will provide the theoretical framework for your training proposal. Your research should support the adult learning principles that will be used in developing and delivering the training.
Be sure that you do not confuse a literature review with an annotated bibliography (a list of references). The literature review should be a discussion of the related literature, not just a list. Your work should demonstrate your ability to conduct graduate-level research, as well as your ability to synthesize what you have learned and determine what information is most appropriate for your research paper. Be sure to properly cite your references, both in the text and the reference section.
Note: It is suggested that you conduct a search on the concept of “literature review” to gain a deeper understanding and to view a few examples. This section of the research project should set the stage and establish the foundation for what is to come.
This portion of the SLP is considered the signature assignment of the course. A signature assignment reflects knowledge or skills essential to meeting a student learning outcome, in this case information literacy. The signature assignment can be viewed as a milestone in the student’s progress toward fulfilling one or several program outcomes.
SLP Assignment Expectations
The content of your proposal should demonstrate your grasp of the concepts, insights, and issues presented in the assigned readings as well as your own research.
The structure of your proposal should demonstrate your ability to analyze—not simply summarize—the information presented in the readings and your research.
Be sure to use at least 7 references to scholarly literature. The references should be properly cited in the text and the reference page (in APA format).
