Order Description
A portfolio self-assessment provides students with an opportunity to evaluate their readiness for graduate practice. Students are required to conduct a self-assessment of their previously developed professional portfolio using the following Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) discipline specific professional standards:
? Codes of professional conduct
? Professional boundaries
? Registered nurse standards for practice, or Midwifery competency standards, and
? Codes of ethics
1. A summary statement assessing your progress with preparation for graduate practice. What is your personal understanding of your discipline specific knowledge, clinical reasoning, problem-solving, teamwork, research and communication skills?
2. A summary table or paragraph of select NMBA professional standards that you consider reflect areas of personal strength in professional development, supported by astatement of what was learned, competency gained, or skill achieved, with examples from practice.
3. A summary table or paragraph of select NMBA professional standards that you consider are your priorities for further development, supported by a statement of what areas of learning, competency or skill you intend to develop, with examples.
4. A summary statement of strategies to prepare for AHPRA registration and to personally prepare for the transition to new graduate practice.
