School Group Counseling
Prepare a substantive response to the following:
What do you think were the most important elements of the intervention? Why?
Sample Answer
- Early intervention: The earlier a child with ASD receives intervention, the better their chances of making progress. Early intervention can help children develop the skills they need to communicate, interact with others, and learn.
- Multimodal intervention: A multimodal intervention is one that uses a variety of approaches, such as behavioral therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and social skills training. This type of intervention is more effective than a single-modality intervention.
- Family-centered intervention: A family-centered intervention involves the entire family in the child’s treatment. This type of intervention is more effective than an intervention that only focuses on the child.
