P​‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍​lease review the section titled “The Sales Pitch” for the recommended script for this week’s assignment. Finally, please review the attached video for a sample of what a successful Ultimate Toolkit sales video should look like. For this week’s assignment, write a brief of what you would say in a 5-6 min video. please select one of the following two options: o Option #1: Premium Sales Pitch Video. Since this video will be shared with potential hiring managers, it would be ideal use a friend, family member, or colleague to playing the role of the decision maker in your video. If you chose to use a person, they do not need to appear on camera. Just hearing their voice is acceptable. Although you may have used notes in previous assignments, in order to receive full credit, you may not utilize notes for this final video. You should either look into the camera like you are speaking with your potential customer, or look at your assistant for the assignment. Please practice in advance so you come across confident, relaxed and conversational. I was told by Steve DeLay that the best student videos, that lead to job offers, are the ones that don’t come across as scripted. This premium video should include: ? Include content from all three of your previous assignments. This includes gathering information, presenting the ticket sales package, and overcoming objections to close the sale. You should utilize a prop related to the sport your interested in (e.g. baseball, bat, or glove for a job in baseball, etc.). ? Follow the script in the Getting the Sale Handbook as close as possible. This is important so all candidates can be evaluated on a level playing field. However, you should make a few minor changes to your video than what you see on the Ultimate Toolkit sample video. These changes are my personal preferences for APUS students and have been approved in advance by Jon Spoelstra and Steve DeLay. ? You don’t have to purchase Silly Putty to use as a prop in your video, but you may if you wish. However, you do need to refer to the packages you can create as Silly Putty tickets. ? Please incorporate the golf example, but instead of the ​‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍​chicken sandwich reference, just say “and when’s the last time you had a really memorable lunch?” ? Please use the 5 sales reps, $10,000 per sale, and conservative sale to one client per month. That way the $50,000 in new business with match the example in the Ultimate Toolkit sample video. However, in an effort to shorten your video and make it more manageable, please eliminate the part of the sales pitch that includes taking current clients to games. Just focus on the new business pitch. ? Please select two (2) different objections of your choice and be sure to overcome them appropriately. ? Please wear business attire. Since this is basically a video job interview, business attire is required just as in the Ultimate Toolkit sample videos. You should also be sure to sit at a desk for your presentation. In order to record a high quality video and perfect your sales pitch, you will need to practice and may need to do multiple recordings. Please see three videos in the Week 8 Lessons area for samples of what a successful video should look like. Also included, is a link to a useful article that provides recommendations for how to look great in your webcam video. ? Finally, your video should be an appropriate length. As far as the duration of your video, since you are combining everything into this comprehensive presentation, it could take anywhere from 5-7 minutes to cover the required content in a clear concise manner. Again, please try to avoid talking too fast. You’ve been practicing all session. You’re ready. Just take a deep breath before you begin, relax, and you’ll hit a home run! • Option #2: Secondary Sales Pitch Video. Since sales is not for everyone, and everyone may not have the ability to put all parts of the video in place by memory, there is one other option. If you have no interest in ever working in ticket sales, you can accept a penalty of two letter grades (20 points), and complete a less rigorous final video. Therefore, the grading of your assignment will begin at a score of 80 instead of 100.
