Topic:In his book, Puzzle Instinct, Marcel Danesi demonstrates that many forms of puzzles --- optical, logical, linguistic, and mathematical, to name a few --- are based on deception, disorder, and ambiguity.
To what extent does overcoming deception, disorder, and/or ambiguity play a role in your own field of study and/or other real world practices? Use evidence from the course material, your personal experience working puzzles, and insights that you have gained from other disciplines --- economics, math, computer science, philosophy --- to support your argument.
The paper should be no less than 1500 words, be double-spaced in 12 pt. type, and is worth 15% of your final grade. No late papers will be accepted.
The Course materials that we mainly use in class are the book Puzzle Instinct by Marcel Danesi and the documentary film”wordplay. When using the example of personal experience or your own filed study , try to use the examples which everyone can fit in. I am a male, junior and majoring in international studies. You can use any examples for the insights that you have gained from other disciplines --- economics, math, computer science, philosophy.
