ntroduction

You’ll develop an interesting title for your writing
You will create a compelling lead for you writing
You will include a link to the video being analyzed
You will conclude the introduction with a clear thesis, one that foreshadows the specific components of your APS analysis
Body

There will be three sections in the body
One section devoted to analyzing audience
One section devoted to analyzing purpose
One section devoted to analyzing setting
Each section should
Clearly identify the focus (audience, purpose, or setting) and the particulars of the text being analyzed. This will serve as the claim (topic sentence)
Provide evidence from the text (primarily in the form of direct quotes) that show how the audience, purpose, or setting is communicated in the text.
Provide an explanation of how the evidence supports the claim. This is the most important part of the paragraph. (A good rule is that for every line of quoted material, you, the writer, should provide two lines of explanation.)
Close the section by asserting what the section has proven AND by circling back to the claim.
