presentation must be at least 15 minutes in length. Identify the Speaker’s name, the date and title of the presentation. Watch the presentation carefully and answer
the following questions.
Does the speaker have an effectively crafted and presented well-organized, thesis-driven speech? Explain why or why not.
Does the speaker present well-reasoned and appropriately supported oral arguments that are responsive to topic, purpose, audience, and occasion? Explain why or why
not/
Does the speaker deliver her speech using an audience-centered, extemporaneous approach? Explain why or why not?
Identify, define and apply 5 rhetorical concepts or principles discussed in class or in our course text to evaluate the effectiveness of the speech.
Does the speaker demonstrate ethical and socially responsible public speaking, and to identify and evaluate ethical problems in public address? Provide 2 ways they do
or do not.
An “A” analysis is written in complete sentences, is grammatically correct, thorough and complete, and not only answers the questions, but demonstrates a strong
knowledge of how the rhetorical principles of our class can be used to assess a public address, but also how the address could be improved to advance the goals of the
speaker.
