Several of your courses may ask you to “reflect” on readings and/or write a reflection paper or essay. The general idea is for you to read, view, or do something, and then figure out what it means to you. Some of your writing is devoted to analyzing what you read, viewed or did, and some of it is devoted to its meaning for you. In your reflection, read three essays in your text (The Norton Reader). Select from the list noted in the “Readings and Preparation’ section above. Then write a reflection, using the headings below. Your reflection should be a minimum of 500 words. This assignment will also help you become accustomed to the style of essays in your text for this course. The minimum word requirement for this assignment is a bit
shorter than others in the course, which are a minimum of 750 words. This difference is intentional to help you adjust to the style of work in the course. You will be reading essays throughout the course.
