Reflection Activity: As explained in Reading Assignment #2 (by Sam Harris), scientific experiments involving the brain have led many scientists and philosophers to the conclusion that free will is an “illusion” because “our actions are initiated by unconscious mental processes long before we become aware of our intention to act.”1
If the results of these experiments are accurate, what does that tell us about free will? Does it imply that we do not have free will?
