Real Life Cyber Criminal Cases

Most often the media reports security and privacy breaches. Your task in this project is to keep an eye on print
and electronic media to identify, analyze and evaluate real-life cybercrimes reported in media.
Over the course of the semester you should identify three (3) real-life cybercrimes that have occurred over the
past 12 months. At least one (1) of these must come from the UAE or Gulf region.
You should note the following for each cybercrime identified:
Date of occurrence of the security and privacy breaches;
Where it occurred;

Who/how many people/companies/governments were affected;
Describe the incident;
What security vulnerabilities were exploited by the attacker/s to cause this cybercrime;
What was the estimated cost of the cybercrime;
What (security) steps were taken since the cybercrime occurred to prevent a reoccurrence;
Describe any (if any) unresolved issues relating to this cybercrime;
What new technical information did you learn from this cybercrime
