Reading the American Past"

Read documents 17-4 and 17-5 in the book "Reading the American Past" (pages 33 - 39) and write down your thoughts on the arguments made by both Chief Joseph and Richard Pratt. Your write-up should indicate any agreements and controversies between them. Reflect upon points made in our class as well as the main text book to provide your interpretation of our history and include your thoughts about that. Also indicate whether you think that either of them are correct in their views (or both) and explain why, in other words, tell me what YOUR thoughts are.
