Racism, prejudice, stereotypes, and other “isms” in the media.

Unfortunately, “mass shootings” have been and remain a harsh reality in the United States. Events of this nature are littered with social psychological concepts. While there are acts of violence everyday across the country the events in Odessa, TX (this past weekend) and El Paso, TX (August 3rd) have garnered national attention. Why do I bring this up? As stated in your text social psychology examines the individual and it intersects with sociology because both can examine societal and immediate factors that can influence behavior. If you are unfamiliar with either story please take a moment and read an article about at least one for a point of reference.
