Write a 2-page paper describing a psychosocial treatment plan you would create to address psychosocial issues about a case study including a child dealing with a medical illness. (Case studies will be provided by 3rd class day). The case study will include:
Child’s age and sex
Pertinent familial information
Characteristics of the child’s disease or medical problem
How the disease or medical problem might be expected to affect the child’s development, behavior, and family.
In your paper, describe:
- Possible major psychosocial issues of patient, parents, and/or siblings
- A psychosocial treatment plan to include:
Two psychosocial goals for the patient
One psychosocial goal for the child’s parents and/or siblings.
- 1-2 evidence-supported psychosocial interventions and/or strategies to be used to accomplish each goal (What interventions would you provide or recommend to address the identified goals?)
- How you would evaluate the intervention
Please use the required readings, and at least 3 other references to support your interventions.
